Spatial data has become one of the most valuable assets in the digital age. As a result the demands and expectations of data consumers are increasing exponentially. To meet these demands Data Providers need to react quickly, delivering more diverse data product through more diverse delivery channels.

Historically, product publication systems were built in-house as bespoke systems. Often created to publish just a single product, these systems were developed as standalone 'silos' and result in Data Providers having a plethora of product publication systems thoughout their organsiation.

Developing a bespoke product publication systems is a costly and time consuming process, often delaying product launches and being delivered so far into the future that customer demand has changed. In a bespoke system, new product or product update equates to system change, which in turn requires more software to be developed, which costs time and money. All this results in delays to market and a lack of customer responsivness.
