"Know those unknowns" - Consultancy on AIXM and WXXM
We understand that your move towards adopting AIM exchange models such as AIXM and WXXM is often a project with many unknowns: Is it possible to create AIXM or WXXM from my existing database? What data am I missing? Will my data be valid? How do I handle temporality? How do I publish out to a wider community? How do I ensure quality? What about business rules? How do I select and query? How do I secure data access? How do I visualise my data?
That's a lot of unknowns but we can help you 'know those unknowns'. We offer an Agile consultancy package to produce an AIM proof of concept demonstrator for you.
Here's how it works ...
1) You provide us with your existing database model. If possible we'd like some data in the model, but if not we can load it with some samples using our GO Loader product
2) Using our GO Publisher product we'll map your existing model onto an AIXM 5, AIXM 5.1, WXXM 1.1 or KML exchange model. If you've got some specific extensions you want us to use then we're happy to work with them.
3) Using the data model you've given us we'll generate some sample data valid to your target exchange model
4) We'll then generate a report documenting the mapping from your existing model to your target exchange model
5) When we're finishing, we'll not only tell you what maps to what but we'll also tell you what's missing so you'll know all the unknowns in moving to your AIM exchange model
6) Converting data is only the 1st stage, what about exchanging data with others? The move to AIM is all about standards, and so the recommended web service standard for accessing AIM data is the OGC Standard Web Feature Service (WFS). In this next stage, we'll take your mapping and deploy it as a secure WFS for you to query and test against.
7) Finally, we'll provide the hosting and some web based training in how to access your data via the WFS.
8) On completion, you'll most definitely know all those unknowns not only about the exchange model but also about its provision via web services.
Sounds like its going to cost? Not at all! You can start by purchasing a single 2 week 'Sprint Pack' and then add more Sprints as we go along. To get a quotation based on your needs send us an Enquiry and we'll get in touch
Here's some of the things we've done and can do for you ...

- Data model and database design for AIXM 5 and AIXM5.1
- Publishing AIXM5 and AIXM 5.1 from existing data models (e.g. AICM4.5)
- Publishing WXXM 1.1.1
- Loading and managing AIXM5 into an existing data model (e.g. AICM4.5)

An Agile Approach
Here at Snowflake we're big fans of the Agile process and being open with our customers. For the length of the project we'll provide you access to a dedicated Project Wiki and Project Issue tracking system. Through our Scrum meetings we'll provide progress updates on a daily basis and every two weeks you'll get a demonstration of what we've done. Not only do we want you to see progress daily, we want you to influence progress, so every 2 weeks we'll have a planning meeting with you and as customer we want you to guide us in what you want us to do next.
If you've never been involved in an Agile project before then this whole process will be an 'eye opener', as company we don't have a problem with you seeing 'under the hood' on how we do things. Why? Because when you do see under the hood you'll see how hard we're working for you!
